Whether you are new to yoga or are familiar with the practice, gentle hatha yoga will help you develop balance, strength and flexibility without feeling overwhelmed or confused.

This gentle and uplifting class will energise the body and switch on the mind. The class is taught at moderate pace giving us time to get into postures and focus on internal body alignment, releasing stress and calming the mind, leaving you feeling calm, balanced and refreshed.


RESTORATIVE & MEDITATIVE

CANDLELIT YIN YOGA | THURSDAYS 6.45PM (60 MINS) | @ THE GARAGE STUDIO, SHEEN LANE, SW14

This class is a great antidote to the yang of fast-paced lives. The focus is to slow down, unwind, de-stress, allowing you to find stillness and melt away tension in body and mind.

Yin is a stilling, nourishing yogic practice that uses yoga props to support the body while the muscles relax. The majority of the postures are on the floor and mainly target the hips, torso and thighs. The idea is to stress and stretch the deeper, denser, connective tissues, fascia, tendons, ligaments and joint capsules.

The practice ends with a guided relaxation leaving you feeling replenished, calmer and deeply rested, this yoga is as a balm for the soul. Making time and space just for YOU!


YOGA & MINDFULNESS FOR TEEN GIRLS (12 TO 16 YRS)

THURSDAYS 5.30PM - 6.30PM | @THE GARAGE STUDIO, 55 SHEEN LANE, SW14 8AB | £15 FOR DROP IN & £60 FOR 5 CLASS PACK

These classes are a great way to practise with friends and other students of the same age. Teen yoga works on reducing stress, gaining strength and flexibility and deeply relaxing the mind and body.

Through a combination of fun flowing postures, breath work, restorative yoga, meditation & journalling the girls will uncover their innate mental health, wellbeing & resilience helping them to overcome challenges and realise their extraordinary potential.

There are no requirements, you don’t have to be sporty or be able to touch your toes to try yoga.

YOGA FOR DEEP REST

RESTORATIVE & YOGA NIDRA | FRIDAYS 2.15PM TO 3.15PM | @ Ticho wellness, Barnes

The focus is to slow down, unwind, de-stress, soothing the nervous system and melting away tension in body and mind. There are only a handful of poses completed in the class which are held for extended periods of time to aid deep relaxation. All the poses are passive stretches supported yoga props.

The class concludes with a Yoga Nidra – a Yogic sleep a simple guided meditation that unwinds the nervous system and induces complete physical and mental relaxation with inner awareness.
