Whilst stress is a useful & natural in daily life, it can quickly become debilitating and ‘switch off’ our ability to retain and produce our best work.

In this relaxed & easy-going workshop, we will not only teach teens incredible things about how the body & brain work and how they respond to stress, but also how we all have the power to avoid, intercept & calm those natural responses. They will gain knowledge & skills that not only prepare them for the pressure of exams but will help them every single day.

They will move, stretch and calm their bodies using – having time disconnected from technology & the external world, to unwind and relax in a safe space and re-connect with themselves.

Teens will learn & practice proven tools and techniques that they can start using immediately, to help them overcome exam nerves and so prepare and sit exams calmly.

THE WORKSHOP

During our afternoon together Teens will learn & practise:

- How the body’s nervous system works; how & when the logical, thinking brain will go ‘off line’ – and what they can do to avoid it or bring it back. They will learn about the incredible Vagus nerve and how it can be ‘trained’ like a muscle to help us become more resilient, and cope better with stress.

- They will explore techniques that have been proven to calm us down and can be used anywhere including: grounding, breath work and Emotional Freedom Technique, a cutting edge method to support you to let go of unhelpful emotions.

- They will learn about their innate wellbeing & inner strength and explore how use them to help themselves, and others. cope better with stress.

- Using the principles of yoga they will also practise easy movement and stretching – shown to support concentration & clarity, to promote healthy sleep patterns and to teach the body how to relax deeply.
