About Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time—for beginners, it may range from 45 seconds to two minutes; more advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more.

I have been lucky enough to have been introduced to Yin yoga at Evolution in Mortlake. Frankie is a wonderful, calm, empathetic instructor. She takes the group through an hour of amazing yoga stretches, guided meditation and concludes each session with a blissful head and neck massage using essential oils. Recommended for anybody who wants to add stretch and relaxation to their weekly workout sessions, but without terrifying yoga poses for those new to the practice. Frankie is Mortlake’s best-kept secret!
